I have been saving Umberto, not wanting to show him because he has been nothing but arms and legs for the longest time. I brought him out a bit earlier than planned because Toscanini had finished his title very fast and I had no male to show in open class. I brought Umberto out not expecting anything, because to me he was just a baby, but in a matter of just three shows he completed his title, before I realized what had happened.
September, 2008
On September 29th. DEN CH Wolfhouse Ornette Coleman (Coffee) turned 8 years old. He is out of a litter of 12 puppies, 8 of which are still alive and well.
Sadly, we lost INT DEN SWE NOR NORD CH Wolfhouse Melody Maker in September to an acute infection; he was doing great in the morning, was a little quiet by afternoon and died at midnight. He was 9 years and 7 months old. The void is great. He was one of the great characters.
In September we also lost DEN
CH Wolfhouse Quartal Harmony to osteosarcoma
at the age of only 5 years and 8 months. She was never bred from. Blood
and tissue samples have been donated to the Swedish osteosarcoma research
project. Somehow it gives us a feeling that her premature death is not
completely in vain. We strongly recommend that you consider this,
should you be so unfortunate as to have a hound diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

INT DEN NOR IW Clb CH Knallåsen's Hortensia, celebrated her 8th birthday on Aug 15. Pictured winning the Danish National Specialty 2 weeks earlier.
After more than a two year break, and as a result of careful planning, we have decided to mate our DEN CH Wolfhouse Urban Symphony to the handsome Melody Maker son, Multi CH Melodream Maker O´Marksbay. These two dogs have very good longevity in their pedigrees, which is of major importance to us. We sincerely hope that the mating “bears fruit”, in which case the litter will be expected around the 25th of September.
Wolfhouse The Blue Note, (age 2 yrs) out to her very first show, where she performed beautifully and won the international ticket (the CACIB). Wolfhouse Umberto was shown for the first time in over a year. At the age of 2 years he is slowly beginning to show the early signs of adulthood. Viking virgins, warriors, witches and Wolfhounds
CH Wolfhouse Pavane and INTCH Knallåsens Hortensia are participating in the annual Viking play in June and July 2007. The two dogs have taken to acting like fish to water. Unfortunately they have also gained a few pounds from all the tidbits and leftovers on the ground around the tables in the Viking village behind the stage. Vikings were sloppy eaters and Wolfhounds make great scavengers.
June, 2007

All the puppies are thriving. Here one of the boys is trying to get comfortable on top of the waterbowl in the hot summer. None of the puppies are for sale.

April, 2006
Now 2 years after our last litter was born, we are finally expecting puppies from our Zoe (DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia) and young Wolfhouse Scarlatti. We had almost given up on Zoe's reproductive abilities; she has been mated and empty three times since she had a pyometra. Many different physiological as well social factors come into play in canine reproduction. Zoe's problem turned out not to be a result of the pyometra, but a social problem. The problem was addressed (see article in the next issue of IWworld) and we expect the arrival of the litter around May 2nd. The sire, Scarlatti, is on his way to completing his championship (needs 1 CC after May 31st) and is developing nicely. He still needs to fill out some more. We expect a lot from this combination.
March, 2006
At a Danish Sighthound Club show on March 26, 2006, INT DEN SWE NOR NORD CH Wolfhouse Melody Maker went Best Of Breed and Best In Show Senior (7-10 year catagory). The judge, Regina Tromp-Pruijn wrote, "7 years old and still a dog of high quality with an impressive outline and lots of substance."

Mating Announcements
Update, November 12, 2005: Sadly, both bitches seem to have resorbed their litters. I believe that pack dynamics have played a large role in this. A very dominant bitch has now been spayed, and will go on vacation next time a litter is planned. I am of a strong conviction that using frozen semen from vigorous, healthy and long-lived males is the optimal approach to breeding towards better longevity in our dogs. Failures such as these cannot discourage my belief in the "dead-sire" approach. We have more semen stored, and will try again at a later date.
With the understanding that the use of frozen semen is slightly more tricky than live mating, we have taken the chance of inseminating two of our best bitches, in hope of obtaining at least one litter.
DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia has been inseminated with semen from USA CH Fleetwind Sundance, who lived to the ripe age of 11 years. Both of Sundance's parents lived to the age of 12 years. This implant was performed on September 23rd.
DEN CH Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue has been inseminated with frozen semen from USA CH Fleetwind Magnum. This great dog lived a long healthy life until the age of 12 years. Rhapsody in Blue was inseminated on September 30th.

Pedigrees for all Wolfhouse litters have now been added to the website. All litters are listed on an overview page, with photos of dogs from each litter. You can still reach current Wolfhouse dogs' pedigrees from their individual Galleries as well.
February 15, 2005
The very latest news is the launching of this website. Jeniffer Johnson of OffLead Productions has done a wonderful job of designing this website for us. It has been a great experience working with her. Jeniffer will also be in charge of maintaining this site. It has been an enormous task to get everything together and we would like to ask our visitors to give us feedback in the form of possible corrections of the pedigrees, and perhaps even help by submitting missing photos of dogs in the pedigrees. Our goal is to have the pictorial pedigrees as complete as possible. If your dog is already represented in the pedigree, and you would like to see him or her presented by a different photo, please send it to us, along with permission to publish.
News of a slightly more dated nature is that we have had our first successful homebred litter from frozen semen from Oakwoods Kalahari, who lived to the ripe age of 10 years and 2 months. The pups are now 8 1/2 months old and developing beautifully. We have high expectations of them. See pedigrees of Wolfhouse Sinfonia & Wolfhouse Scarlatti.
We are going to be "grandparents": CH Wolfhouse Night at the Opera, pictured in the Wolfhouse Champions Gallery, (a litter sister to Wolfhouse Notes for Blues), owned by Ann-Sophie and Lennart Falk, Dorisas Kennel in Sweden, is in whelp with frozen semen from USA CH Fleetwind Magnum. Puppies are expected around February 18th, 2005. Magnum was born in April 1985, and lived to the ripe age of 12 years, and we are very excited about the expected litter.
